Ashnoor Kaur Recalls The Time She Proved Anurag Kashyap Wrong, As He Thought TV Actors Are Too Loud For Films
TV actor Ashnoor Kaur who has been a part of both TV shows and films, proved filmmaker Anurag Kashyap wrong as he was earlier of the view that TV actors are too loud for films
It takes a lot of hard work and patience to successfully transition from the small screen to the big screen. However, sometimes TV actors don't get the banging opportunity that they want to earn with their talent. However, TV actor Ashnoor Kaur thinks the biases towards TV actors still exist in the industry. She even mentioned that Bollywood filmmakers don’t consider TV actors for lead characters in films because they think that they are 'over'. Speaking on the same note, the actor who has done some notable roles in Television shows like Devon Ke Dev Mahadev, Jhansi Ki Rani, Patiala Babes proved filmmaker Anurag Kashyap wrong with her acting chops, as he was earlier of the view that TV actors are too loud for films.
Ashnoor has worked in the 2018 film, Manmarziyaan, directed by Anurag Kashyap, and the 16-year-old shared that the filmmaker was surprised by her acting chops given that she came from a TV background. Ashnoor told Hindustan Times, “When I did the film, Anurag was very nice, warm and welcoming. At the end of the shoot, when I had some performance-oriented scenes, he told me, ‘Yaar tune mujhe galat prove kar diya. Mujhe laga TV actors bade loud hote honge. But you’re a natural actor’. So, that perception is there that TV actors won’t be able to perform. I don’t know why but it shouldn’t be like that."
Ashnoor Kaur who was last seen Patiala Babes, played the role of Kiran in the film Manmarziyaan which stars Abhishek Bachchan, Vicky Kaushal and Taapsee Pannu. Kaur was also seen in Ranbir Kapoor's blockbuster film, Sanju and she played one of his sisters in the film.
